51 Weeks and growing...

Today Reagan is 51 weeks and growing!

This week brings...a Dr. appt. to clear up conjunctivitis in the eye and a flu shot! It was a pretty quiet week this week. Peanut's eye cleared up and she fared well from the flu shot. However, as soon as the nurse came into the exam room to administer it, Reagan started waving bye-bye to her. She knew she wasn't going to like what was coming up! I laughed. The nurse didn't. Go figure.

Peanut is branching out with her foods and today had fish sticks, peas and mac n cheese for lunch and chicken with pasta for dinner. None of it from Gerber! So we are making progress.

She loves playing with the sack of potatoes on the kitchen floor, definitely makes it known when she doesn't get what she wants, is working on 2 more top teeth and prepping for her birthday party this weekend!

Here are a few pics from the week, enjoy!

"I think it has a flat. Better check it out..."

All out of smiles?!
Nope!

"Who wants to nom on my cheeks?!"

Until next week! xo

Sweet Tooth

So...if ya'll know me, which I know you do, you know I have an enormous sweet tooth. It's no secret that I plan to spend my retirement fund one bag of Gummi bears at a time. And unfortunately, that wouldn't buy me too many bags of Gummi bears. But that's another post for another time.

So...back to my sweet tooth. I've got one. And sometimes, it just can't be ignored. So, in perfect fashion to rejoice my sweet tooth, I decide to do a 'candy bar' at peanut's first birthday party. And when putting together a candy bar, the best place to go is a candy store. :) And I just so happened to find the cutest, friendliest candy store in Des Moines! The place is Beaverdale Confections and my oh my! Did peanut and I have a fun time shopping for candy!

As we're placing our order, the cute lil girl behind the counter notices me side-eye the homemade, yes HOMEMADE, marshmallows.

"Would like a sample?" She asks.

Um hello- don't I look like I just escaped a Weight Watchers meeting? YES, I would like a sample.
"Sure," I say, trying to act nonchalant like I really have to think about a free sample.

And then come the angel sounds from above as she says, "I can even roast it for you."

A free roasted marshmallow? Who are we kidding, I'm sold! I'll buy the whole store!

So as I'm enjoying my free sample of amazing oozing goodness, the guy rings up my total and even gives me a SWEET discount! It doesn't get much better than this folks. Oh wait, IT DOES.

One of the locals orders an 'everything bar' and convinces me (oh yes just had to twist my arm) to try one. I add one to my order on my way out and *hangs head in shame* eat it in the car on the way home.
What's an 'everything bar' you ask? Besides being made by magical fairies and tasting like a lil piece of heaven- it's a bar with caramel, chocolate covered peanuts, chocolate covered pretzels, toffee and marshmallow all held together by...you guessed it, more chocolate.

*sigh* So if you're in the mood for a trip to the candy store, check out Beaverdale Confections! And leave with a sugar high like I did. :)

50 Weeks and growing...

Today Reagan is 50 weeks and growing!

This week brought... a play date with her friend Jules, cousin time, and a trip to the pumpkin patch!

Thursday night Reagan and I enjoyed a play date with our friends, Adrian and Jules. Adrian made a delicious meal and then we took the girls to Over the Top, an adorable ice cream shop in Pleasant Hill. Reagan loves ice cream almost as much as spending time with Jules! :)

Friday night we got to celebrate Aunt B's birthday so Reagan got in some cousin time. Jack, Evie and Reagan had so much fun playing~ loved hearing the laughs, squeals and giggles!

Saturday, Reagan and I met our friends Jen, Jackson, Karin and Drew to check out the pumpkin patch at Howell's. Reagan was instantly smitten with the baby goats and even though it was a HOT day (come on, sandals with a Halloween outfit?!) we had a blast! The hay ride out to the pumpkin patch was the highlight.

All in all, another great week! Peanut is branching out food-wise and loves turkey meatballs, Puffs, and pizza! She definitely takes after her mommy~ so far, there isn't a food she doesn't love!

She has started to walk/coast more- between the recliner and side table....from my legs to the love seat...but won't venture out on her own.

The count down to her first birthday is drawing near...this time last year I was trying to sell my cankles on Craigslist. Oh what a difference a year makes.

Here are some pics from the week~ enjoy!

49 Weeks and growing...

On Tuesday, Reagan turned 49 weeks and growing!

The week brought a conclusion to our week long trip up North in Okoboji and then getting settled back into the routine again. Reagan did great while we were on vacation- it took her just a minute to get used to her new sleeping quarters, but she adjusted. She loved exploring the condo and was obsessed with all things kitchen! Good thing daddy and grampa saved the day by having to move, yes move, the refrigerator to fetch one of Reagan's most prized-possessions, her red ball.

She loved being on the go- whether it be shopping, dining out, swimming, or walks around Gull point...and even cut another tooth while there. Thank goodness for baby Orajel!

Reagan loved going back to daycare this week and seeing all her friends. As sad as I am to admit this, she actually cried when I came to pick her up. She LOVES playing with the 'big' kids and I'm so thankful we found the perfect daycare match for her.

Here are some final vacation pics, enjoy!

48 Weeks and growing...

Last Tuesday, Reagan was 48 weeks and growing!

That week brought... turning 11 months! I can't believe we only have a month left to go...

The weekend before we left for Okoboji, peanut was teething something fierce. Andy and I were both hesitant about the 4 hour car ride we were facing with baby girl. A teething baby? Not in our plans. Thankfully, Reagan woke up the morning we were to leave, happy as can be. Her top tooth had broken free!

We couldn't have asked for a better road trip up North. Peanut was a trooper and happily chatted to herself the whole trip. She is still on Stage 3 foods and eating lil bites here and there of 'big' people food. We do bribe her with Cheerios- which she absolutely loves. She also loves her yogurt!

She hasn't attempted to walk by herself (after her spill a few weeks ago). However, she does crawl with a passion and usually has to have a ball or a sock in her hand while doing it. And of course, she wouldn't be a baby without wanting everything she can't have. :)

Here are some pics from 2 weeks ago- enjoy!

"Oh here mom, I got the remote for you. You're welcome."

"I can stand but don't make me do anything with these legs!"

Her 'lovey' aka thumb.

11 months!!

Ready for a road trip!

"Let's go! Let's go!"

We arrived! Lake Okoboji- our first family vacation with peanut~

Gettin in some good Gramma-lovin...

To be continued.... (see above post). xo
