Fun Fall Weekend!

I love fall weekends! We had some fun things planned this weekend that we've never done before, Night Eyes at the zoo and a trip to Center Grove Orchard.  Both very fun if I can make myself forget the crowds.  All that matters is that Reagan had a great weekend and we were making memories... not to mention, we got to eat candy!

Saturday morning:

First things first, a birthday party! Happy birthday Klara! We celebrated at the Playground for Kids and Rea had a great time. She has successfully overcome her fear of bouncy houses and now we can't keep her out of them. Plus, anytime we get to eat frosting and ice cream is a win-win.

Saturday afternoon:

Night Eyes at the zoo- we went with our friends Jen, Melissa and kiddos.

I was pleasantly surprised with this- the cost was affordable, the candy was adequate, and Reagan loved seeing the animals.  However, she was not fond of the life-size characters. I was surprised how shy she was- even skipped an opportunity to have her picture taken with the Disney princesses. Maybe next year-

Sunday Funday:

A trip to Center Grove Orchard on a crisp fall day... sounds storybook right? The crowds were frightening.  I put on my horse blinders and barreled through it.  We really did end up having a grand ole time... I had my first apple slushie and apple donut.  Reagan was in heaven playing in the corn pit, the big tractor, and taking a hay ride.  It was a good 'first' experience and maybe next time we'll go earlier in the day to beat the rush.

In just seven short days, my baby will be four! Hard to believe she's only been with us four years as it feels like a lifetime.  This year, we are keeping her birthday simple with a 'friend drop-off' party. Twelve kiddos for two hours with food, games and face painting.  Looking forward to it!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Life Lately...

We've had a busy week!

At the dentist... a great report! No cavities and they even got some great x-rays. Reagan has all of her permanent teeth and the dentist doesn't see any long term issues with her still sucking her thumb. However, I won't be surprised when she's older and they say, 'Okay time for braces!'...

Girls night out! We wanted to keep it healthy but still have a good time so we embarked on a walking tour of downtown- so much cool stuff to see!  We happened upon a new sushi restaurant and enjoyed a great supper. We even got a free shot from the owner- he said he could tell we were 'celebrating life!' Such a great night out with my girls!

A trip north!  Time to celebrate my step-sister's baby shower... so we made a weekend out of it and caught homecoming as well for Wartburg college. Fun times!

Tired toddler...

Gramma K. always has a beater ready for peanut!

Making breakfast...

Homecoming parade time!

Play time before heading back home...

Sunday Funday:

A family walk around the neighborhood to check out the Halloween décor.  This neighborhood is pretty hardcore in preparing for Beggar's Night. It's a great way to celebrate Halloween with the family!

I was getting peanut's toothbrush ready and glanced over- she was already laying on the counter. 3 months ago she couldn't even get up on a stool by herself. Can't believe she's going to be 4!  Sob story post to come on that milestone....

Hope everyone had a great weekend!!

Fall is here!

I'm doing my happy dance right now... temp's in the 50's and pumpkin muffins in the oven. Love this time of year!  We enjoyed a great fall weekend...

Saturday:

I had been wanting to try out a new recipe-I'm not sure where it originated from but I'm not taking credit for it as my own, something that was floating around FB. So easy!  1 box pumpkin muffin mix and 1 can pumpkin. Mix and bake. So tasty!  I had a lil helper too which makes it even sweeter!

We took advantage of the perfect weather and played outside for hours...

Reagan also found her pumpkin for Beggar's night while we were getting out Halloween decorations so naturally we had to practice.

Andy and I had a scheduled date night so peanut was headed to G&G W.'s for a sleepover with her cousins.  This is her version of 'packing lightly.'

Saturday night Andy and I attended the wedding of one of his coworkers. It was at a venue called The Barnes Place.  So beautiful!  A huge barn decorated rustic inside with windows that overlooked a pond.  We had a great time hanging out with everyone!

And a nice surprise when we got home, roses and bottle of my favorite wine waiting for me. I love my husband!  So sweet-

Sunday Funday:

I made my first acorn squash of the fall season.  Oven baked and made the house smell so good!

Later in the day we had fun celebrating our neighbor's daughter's 1st year birthday.  What a sweet baby girl and Rea had a blast with her friends!  Happy 1 year Katelyn!

Reagan and the birthday girl:

In 10 years, these two are gonna be trouble. :)

Bugles fingers....remember doing this as a kid?

Craft table- great idea!

The aftermath of the piñata-

This face says it all... candy coma!

Hope everyone had a great fall weekend!
