2016 Spring Break- Part 1

In the thick of winter, when the snow was on the ground and the temps were freezing, we had a great idea to plan a little getaway to Florida over spring break.  We wanted affordable, family-friendly, and ocean- lots of sand and sun!

We booked a package with Tradewinds Resort and last week, packed up and headed south.  Oh what a glorious feeling to be headed to the beach!

The trip did not disappoint.  The resort was wonderful- the staff were very friendly and accommodating, and extremely kid friendly.  The weather was sunny and mid 80's and the ocean was just inspiring.  The waves, the smooth sand... the baby dolphin that swam by us- surreal!

I made a vow to only eat seafood for our main meals and it was so tasty!  Crab cakes, fresh shrimp, fish tacos... and of course, lots of fun fruity drinks to go with.  The best part was being together as a family and making those special memories.

Rea actually squealed when she saw the ocean- and she loved it!  She loved flying too...which, we may have started a bad habit there.  She has already asked when she can go on a plane again. I love that we were able to go on this trip and have the time of our lives.

We are off!

Beach I spy game- Pinterest for the win!

Here we go!

First set of wings!

First palm tree!

She loved her bed!

First time seeing the ocean!

View from our room-

Pool fun!

Beach fun!

She came. She saw. She conquered!

View from the cabana-

Exploring the grounds...

Nightfall on the beach...

Campfires and smores for the littles...

Family pic by the campfire...

Slushies for lunch because... why not?!

Entrance to the resort-

We took a cab and explored a quaint little area called John's Pass... lots of good eats!

And this is how we all felt on our last day... so hard to get up and say goodbye to the ocean! Until next time!

Loving Gpa's swing...or as Rea calls it, the 'swing for the old people'....meaning her mom!

2016 Spring Dance Clinic

Reagan attended the 2016 Dance clinic over the weekend put on by the local high school dance team. They learn a routine, get a t-shirt and the best part according to Rea,...the all important snack break...then the recital is the following day.

This girl loves anything that brings her up on a stage- she had lots of fun with friends and shaking her poms!

Anxiously awaiting a visit from the Tooth Fairy...

Rea had her 6 1/2 year dentist check up this week.  All is looking good!

Her bottom right permanent tooth is almost all the way in. Her bottom two front teeth are very loose and should be coming out any time.  Her top two front teeth are also loose but may take a couple more months before they fall out.

No sugar bugs and she sat very still for the cleaning and x-rays. We are making progress!

She is very excited for the Tooth Fairy to make a visit...

March came in like a lamb...

Our March came in like a lamb... pretty calm and quiet.

We ended February with World Thinking Day- Reagan and her troop had fun learning all about other countries.  Lots of treats and games were shared...

Reagan also had fun celebrating her friend Ellie's birthday!

Happy birthday Ellie!

We enjoyed some great warm temps over the weekend too!  Flip flops and ear muffs... the Midwest trend.

And to add more celebration to our weekend, Rea declared Bunny's birthday was on leap day so we had to celebrate.  She made goodie bags for her stuffies and we sang Happy Birthday, then indulged in brownies.  I love her imagination.

And as we say good-bye to February we are counting down the days until Spring Break!

Happy March y'all!
