Happy birthday mom!

I'm so blessed to have such a great, wonderful, supportive mom. She can always lift me up when I'm feeling down and keep me laughing through it all. She is my best friend and knows me so well. I don't know what I would do without her.

Friday night we had a chance to meet up with Scott & B, Heather & Casey, Annette & Davey for some food, fun and good times! It was nice to just sit back and relax for the night.... we even capped the night off with dancing at Johnnie Macks- Long live the 'Washington Apple!'

Love letter

I think we all need to write a love letter to the sun- telling it how much we miss it! I'm definitely feeling the winter blah's right now- I could use a nice, warm sunny day to lift up my spirits.
Who knows the countdown until spring?!

The Little Ro That Could...

As I'm sitting here getting ready to leave for class, I remembered a book I used to read when I was little- "The little tank engine that could."

I'm still pouting because how fair is it that I have to leave my warm blanket and couch to trek half way across Des Moines in freezing degree temp's to attend class? "I think I can...I think I can... I think I can..."

Welcome to Iowa: The SNOW state

Well, another weekend cut short by the crazy snowstorm going on outside. Andy and I were supposed to spend the weekend in Waverly but decided we'd better head back to Des Moines last night before we got stranded. It was a good thing too! Woke up to this today:

Just yesterday our street, sidewalk, and deck were completely free of snow. Not anymore! Here's hoping for a late start tomorrow- who's with me?

I *puffy heart* DVR!

DVR (think TiVo) has allowed me to record my favorite shows since I'm at class 2 nights a week. And it's time to get out the popcorn and nestle in- BB9 started yesterday! *See Andy rolling his eyes here* I'm so excited. I didn't watch it last year but am ready for it this season!
