Let's Go Hawks!

We didn't make it to an Iowa bowl game this year due to the fact that they were playing at 9 p.m. on a week night but peanut still got into the Hawkeye spirit by sporting her new sweatshirt that she got from daddy for Christmas.

Andy swears this is why the Hawks were able to pull out a win. :)

Here's to a better season next year!

Christmas 2010 Wrap-Up

The past few weeks have been a flurry of fun Christmas activities! I'm not sure if it's because I have a toddler but I have definitely felt the Christmas spirit this year. I'm so thankful to have the opportunity to celebrate the season with family and friends.

Our annual Girl's Night Out-Christmas edition was a couple weeks ago. Drinks and appetizers at Alba and dinner to follow at the Olympic Flame. The best part besides the company and delicious food, the belly dancing (not me, mind you- I left it up to the professionals)! Even though our 'chick flick' turned out to be a dud, it was great hanging with my girls!

******************************************************************
On Christmas day I got to try out my new apron! Hard to believe I've never owned one with as much time as I put in in the kitchen (insert hysterical laugh here). But this apron was very fitting and came in handy for prepping Christmas day dinner! Thanks Adrian!

Peanut also received a special visit from her Godparent's on Christmas day and they delivered the perfect fit for her- her very own chair! With baby doll and bottles... Peanut was in heaven!

So yeah... we need to work on sharing bottles. :)

Peanut had a great day hanging with her G&G W. and Daisy!

Last shot of Christmas 2010... and peanut going on only a 20 minute nap all day...that's a record. And we lived to tell about it.

Hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas! xoxo

Santa came!

Our tree on Christmas eve night~
Daddy and Reagan~ Christmas morning, 2010

"Ooh- what's this?"

"Just what I've always wanted!"

"More presents!!"

It was so much fun to watch Reagan open her presents from Santa. Even if the wrapping paper was more enticing than the actual toy. :)
And even though Santa had strict orders not to get me anything this year, he surprised me with new Zigteck running shoes, athletic socks, an Itunes gift card AND the new Ipod Nano (in pink!!)! I was ecstatic, appreciative and so surprised! I can't wait to work on my New Year's resolution. I love you 'Santa!' xoxo

Christmas Eve at the North Pole

On Thursday, we packed up the car and headed North to celebrate Christmas with the family.

Unbeknownst to us, up north was soon to turn into the North Pole. I'm only partially joking- with 10.5 inches of snow in one night, I think that calls for a name. And since this is a family oriented blog...well, you see where this is going.

But despite the snow (and Andy losing many rounds of card games) we had a great time! The food was good 'ol down home cooking, the fire was toasty and it was great to be with family. We have so much to be thankful for this year, especially with my mom's cancer-free clean bill of health!

Here are some pics, enjoy!

"Oh no Gramma, not the old guy in red again..."
"Well I guess I can smile. Just a little bit."

Cousin time!

Group shot~ evidently someone was being more enticing than me with my camera. :)

Reagan loved opening presents!

Her reaction to clothes. Can I remind her of this when she's 16?!

My mom opening her big (well-deserved!) surprise! Vegas or bust!

Wallace Family Christmas~2010

On Saturday we got together to celebrate the Wallace family Christmas!

At least this year we didn't have a foot of snow on the ground and Uncle Steve and Aunt Amy were able to come join us. Great G&G Wallace were also able to come and Reagan got some much anticipated cousin time in as well!

It was the perfect day of feasting (who needs a meal when you can eat a jar full of chocolate-covered almonds in one day?!), lots of game playing and Christmas movies on TV. The perfect way to spend the holidays!

Family shot~

Cousin time!

"Check out my new blocks Evie."

New walker toy? Nope, new 'knee-it' toy. :)

"Watcha got Daddy?"

"Dora PJ's! My favorite!"

"I can do it."

"Just what I've always wanted!"

"Whew! Opening presents is tiring. I'm ready for a nap!"

Thanks to all for the gifts, the love and the laughter! xo
