Friday night:
Did I mention it's c-c-c-cold out? We hunkered down, made Christmas goodies and danced to Christmas music in the kitchen.
Saturday night:
Andy and I were supposed to head to a Christmas party for his work but it was canceled at the last minute. Thanks to Rea's Uncle and Aunt for watching her so we could still enjoy date night!
We checked out a really fun place downtown that has lots of arcade games. The best part was a life sized Connect Four. Brought back so many fun childhood memories! We finished off the night with dinner at Skips.
Christmas toes!
Reagan had her toes painted at her sleepover... She loves them- thanks Aunt B!
Sunday:
Snow day! We had fun lounging in pj's while 4 inches of snow fell.
Stuck!
Hope everyone had a great weekend!
Joys and tribulations, rants and rambles, insights and embarrassing moments...Taking in all of life and what it has to offer!

Christmas in the Junction
We braved the frigid temps last Thursday night to have fun at our annual Christmas in the Junction! It was chilly but we kept warm by shopping and enjoying dinner at Cooper's on 5th. Always a good time out with my girls!

Remembering...
My grandma gave me my first nativity scene years ago when she was still able to shop and know who she was shopping for. It was one of the last Christmas's she would be able to do that.
Even though she's no longer with us, I feel her spirit every time I dust off the box and pull out the pieces. This year Reagan has been enamored with it and the stories of Jesus' birthday. She likes to rearrange the figurines but baby Jesus is always in the middle. As he should be.
Remembering those who can't be with us this Christmas and thanking God for those special Guardian Angels.

Feeling Festive.
Out with the turkey, in with all things Christmas!
I was able to get our Christmas decorations up, Christmas cards addressed/mailed, and remembered to 'move' Elfie three nights in a row. I'm feeling accomplished! We also had a few fun things planned this weekend and even though we were busy, it was a FUN busy!
Festive, get yourself in the holiday spirit, pics:
On Saturday afternoon, Rea and I kept up with our annual tradition of attending Disney On Ice. It was really cute this year and Rea loved the emphasis on Ariel, her favorite princess.
She's contemplating why the security guards can go onto the ice but she can't. You know, because she loves to ice skate. Despite never having gone before.
Saturday night our friends the Miller's came over and Rea had a fun play date with her good friend, Ava. I had Rea clean her room before they came over. Didn't seem to matter after 3 hours of hard core toddler play.
Sunday Funday!
Early morning tree decorating with candy canes.
A trip to Bass Pro to see Santa with our friends- despite a 2 hour wait, lunch at Uncle Buck's helped, we had fun!
She expects a four-wheeler under the tree Christmas morning. She's watching too much Duck Dynasty with Daddy.
And...since seeing Santa one time per day wasn't enough, Santa made a surprise trip to our neighborhood, along with the DMFD, for Santa sighting #2. They were also collecting food donations for the local food pantry so it was a great teachable moment for Rea. A great way to end a weekend!
Hope everyone had a great weekend! P.S. Is it Friday yet?!

Thanksgiving 2013
As Thanksgiving drew close this year, I found myself reflecting on all the things I probably take for granted every day. A warm bed, a hot meal, my health and the health of my family and friends... and I wanted to make sure that in some small way, I paid it forward this year. True, it wasn't a lot. But before we headed out of town this year, I dropped off needed groceries at Bethel Mission- Hope Ministries.
Never having been there, I wasn't sure what to expect. It was easier than I thought, which makes it easier to incorporate a food drop off at Christmastime too. And next time I'll take Rea with me and show her how even a small gesture of kindness, can help those in need. It felt good.
We headed north this year for turkey day and as usual, it was great to see family and spend time catching up and eating some great food. This year was full of Grandpa-shenanigans as the cool whip lid made its way to each of the grandkids' noses. Funny times!
This year was extra special as we welcomed a new family member! My step-sister and brother-in-law had a sweet baby girl, Rose, and this was our first time meeting her. She was cute as a button and teeny tiny! Only 6 lbs. 12 oz. and slept so well, even during the chaos that ensues when all the grandkids get together.
So many things to be thankful for this year. My heart is full.
Hello baby Rose!
Oh how these kiddos love their Grandpa and Gramma!
Belated birthday present- thanks Erin, Erik, Chris, Nina and baby Rose!
I had no clue she liked pumpkin pie.
Thanks for the fun craft project Gramma K.!
Tomorrow we get to spend the day with Andy's family and it's sure to be another great time, more memories to be made, laughs to be had, food to eat...from our house to yours, have a blessed Thanksgiving!

The High's and the Low's
The Highs:
Our weekend started off happy and healthy. Friday night Andy and Reagan had a daddy/daughter play date with our friends the Larsen's and the Dilk's, while I enjoyed a fun girls night out that included Mexican food and shopping. Thanks for a great night Jen & Jacque!
Saturday we enjoyed a fun birthday party for our sweet little friend, Willow- what a cutie!
Saturday night we enjoyed an impromptu visit from our besties, Nette and Davy. Rea was so excited! Nette's in trouble, Rea already wants to wear her clothes. :)
The Low:
Sunday morning, Reagan woke up very early crying of a headache. Pretty unusual for her. After registering a 101 degree fever it was time for a visit to the doctor. 3 hours later... diagnosed with strep. Not fun! But Rea was a champ and we started some good meds. Hopefully tomorrow will bring a better, healthier day.
Hope everyone had a great weekend!
