Sunday Funday

We started our Sunday with family pictures!

All ready to go...

Followed by a birthday party for our dear friend Klara!  Happy birthday Klara!

And we finished the day with a tour of the local fire station with Rea's girl scout troop!  She loved being able to go inside the fire trucks, trying on the equipment and getting a coloring book!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Neighborhood Halloween Bash

A couple in our neighborhood hosts an annual Halloween bash. They always go all out and this year was no exception!

Face painting, carnival games, popcorn machine, food/drinks, caricature drawings and the scariest Halloween decorations you ever did see... We had lots of fun celebrating Halloween with our neighbors!

Happy Halloween!

Night Eyes 2015

Friday night we grabbed some friends and headed to Night Eyes at the Zoo.  The kiddos had fun getting candy, playing with light up wands and ...seeing princesses!  Despite the crowds and chilly temps, it was a success!

Thankful Thursday

Kindergarten Conferences:

We are so thankful this week for a great school conference!

Reagan scored very high on her timed tests and the teacher had nice things to say about her behavior in the classroom.  It's always nice to hear how well your kiddos are doing when they aren't with you during the day.  She likes helping other kids in her class in a kind way and has a fun sense of humor, were some of the comments from her teacher.

Thankful for an encouraging start to the school year!

Midweek church:

Reagan has started back to midweek church and is having a blast!  I love that she gets excited learning about God's love. It's a great set up with a craft, video and game all tied to a bible verse.

I'm reminded of how many blessings we have and am so thankful!

Fall Girls Trip 2015

Galena has always been on my bucket list. I've heard so many fun things about the town. I couldn't wait to go. So when my girlfriends and I were planning a fall trip, I thought Galena would be the perfect choice. And it didn't disappoint!

There is so much to do!  Between the wine tasting, great food, fun shops, ghost tours, Chestnut Mountain and the distillery, we didn't have a spare minute to breathe!  But I can definitely say it was one of the best trips I've been on and close enough so the drive was doable.

Check one off the bucket list!

Heading out!

We split up the drive Friday night and stopped in the Czech Village in CR. Great food!

We got up bright and early Saturday for exploring... it was the busiest day of the year in Galena (unbeknownst to us) so we were already met with crowds.  Wine tasting by 10 a.m. sure did seem to help though!  Lots of yummy wines, cheeses, candy, and sausage to sample!

After a yummy Italian lunch at Vinny's we headed to Chestnut Mountain. It was beautiful! We saw all 3 states and then rode down the hill on sleds with wheels. I can't believe I actually did it!  Definitely a highlight of the trip.

We then headed to a local distillery and enjoyed some libations. Great Apple Pie drink in honor of fall!

We rounded out the night with a very fun (and informational) ghost tour!

Yummy cocktails with dinner!

Enjoying live music-

What a great girls trip! Can't wait to go back!

October came in like a blur...

I read online only 12 more Friday's until Christmas.  Where did the year go?!  I can't believe October is here and in full force.  We are finding our groove- between dance, hip hop, midweek church, girl scouts starting, school, homework, packing lunches every night... the days just fly by!

Rea had fun going to spirit night with her friend. They ran into their teacher while we were there and it made Reagan's year!  Celebrity sighting you know.

Rea also experienced her very first babysitter!  We shared a sitter with friends on Saturday night and I have to admit, I had my doubts. But Rea had so much fun and afterwards told me, "Mommy, I love having a babysitter!"  Fun night was had by all.

Playing with the hermit crab while the babysitter frantically looked for the one that got away!

Big kid play date: I struck out playing slots at the casino but we did enjoy a wonderful dinner at AJ's!

Prepping for her birthday party... sneak peek...Supergirl!  She wanted a Super Hero theme this year and that seemed doable.   Super hero's are pretty big around our house lately. Rea loves the Itty Bitty's from Hallmark and talked me into buying her Cat girl while we were on vacation.

And finally there is nothing cuter than a gender reveal pumpkin decorating party!  My dear friend got to share the news she is having a boy! Couldn't be more excited for her... and we had lots of fun prepping our pumpkins!

Happy October!
