Rea's daycare provider contracted Influenza B (We're thinking about you, J!) so this translated into a vacation day for me. BIG thanks to Gramma W. for watching peanut for the first 2 days...
I decided peanut and I needed to go exploring on our day off and it just so happened Groupon had a deal for the Science Center. Love Groupon!! And what perfect time to visit the Science Center and say hi to Sue!
First things first. Morning snuggle time! Mommy with her coffee, Little with her juice. Conversation went like this:
Rea: 'Mommy, are you happy?'
Me: 'Yes honey I'm so happy because I can be home with you today. I love you. Are you happy too?'
Rea: (yells) 'Yes I'm so happy!!! I love you too mommy.' *cue snuggling*
First glimpse of Sue. A little intimidating so we had to hide behind the dinosaur head for a minute.
She's checking things out:
Reagan, meet Sue.
Sue, meet Reagan.
This is her 'deer in headlights' look-
Bring in the reinforcements- thumb, blankie, bunny
Exploring~
She loved playing in the water:
Had fun with the balls:
Thought this was pretty cool too:
*Too dark for pictures but I could not drag her out of the planetarium. We watched the reel on atoms, stars and orbits for about 3 rounds...she was intrigued. Maybe she'll go work for NASA when she grows up!
Checking out the badger:
It wouldn't be a mommy/daughter day without a trip to OL! I even used OL points to get some free Froyo!
What a great day!
And with pj's on, teeth brush, books read, all tucked in tonight, peanut said in her tiny toddler concerned voice, "Mommy I really miss Sue. I hope she's okay that I'm gone and doesn't miss me too much." Perfect opportunity for a return visit!
