Patience is a virtue...

Right?! That's what I keep telling myself. Lil P is teaching me all kinds of patience. And today was no exception!

Baby was just too active for the tech to get a definite gender shot. At first, she was leaning towards girl but the more she looked around, she retracted that and said it was just too early to determine. She told us to try again around 24-25 weeks. So I guess that's what we'll do!

In the meantime, we're staying 'Team Green!' Have a great weekend everyone!

Welcome baby Sage!

Sage Victoria was born at 11:20 a.m. today! Right on time...and with only 5 pushes.

Lisa, you're my hero! Sage is the spitting image of Lisa- and I heard she has Justin's eyes but they were closed while we were there. She is just precious! And yes- it kicked my baby fever into high gear!

Mommy and baby: She was so peaceful!

Congrats you guys! xo

Here's what I do in my spare time

Jealous?

Notice the poor, neglected pears in the background. They didn't stand a chance.

19 Weeks, 2 days and counting...

You know how a bag of microwave popcorn looks before you pop it?

Then, after 2 minutes in the microwave, and it's popped- how full it looks? Yep, that's how I feel. I feel like a full bag of popped popcorn.
Today I am 19 weeks, 2 days and counting... I was up three times last night and I'm sure that's a sign of more to come. Am finding it harder to get comfortable when I sleep and harder to touch up the nail polish on my toes!

Lil P is measuring the size of a large heirloom tomato-

Only 3 more days until the BIG ultrasound results...stay tuned!

What they don't tell you in pregnancy books...

What they don't tell you in pregnancy books: Vol. 1, Issue 1

How to get your growing gut (a.k.a. baby) up out of the bathtub...

I see a trip to Hammer Medical Supply in my future- ah, shower chairs aren't just for senior living anymore!

Stay tuned for next week's topic: "Is that my behind or did my back give birth to a watermelon?!"

Favorite pastime

For as long as I can remember, I have loved reading. Even when I was younger, I'd live at the library, especially during the summers. Even in high school when it really wasn't considered 'cool' to have your nose in a book, I was still reading!

I've only taken a small break from my trips to the library when I was getting my undergrad degree and then my master's. I mean, who wants to voluntarily read after being forced to read boring text books for hours at a time? (Yes, mom I think I did read one or two text books at college!) :)

But since my school days are long behind me, (or so I hope!) I've taken up my favorite pastime again. The odd thing is, that even though I have loved reading for so many years, I've never gone to hear an author do a reading. It was definitely time I had that experience!

So last Tuesday, Alyce and I headed down to the local library to hear one of my favorite authors, Elizabeth Berg. And I have to say- it was beyond my expectations! Like she mentioned that night, when you're reading, you picture the look and sound of the characters in your own mind. You don't necessarily want someone else to choose that for you. Which is maybe why I never really got into books on tape.

Anyway, I digress. Ms. Berg was charming, funny, laid-back, so friendly and delightful! After reading 4 excerpts from her new book, she did a Q&A session and had us all laughing until the PA announcement that the library was closing. It was definitely a moment worth remembering.

So if you haven't read any of her books and find yourself with some downtime, I guarantee you won't be disappointed. She'll make you feel like you've just returned home.

18 Weeks, 2 Days and counting...

Today, I am 18 weeks, 2 days and counting... Lil P is equal to a can of soup! (and yes, I chose Chunky because I FEEL chunky). So there.

I also received my first unsolicited "Are you pregnant?!" comment from a co-worker today that I hadn't seen in months. And it felt so good to say, "Why, yes I am!"

I'm still feeling pretty good nauseous-wise, just tired and ready to fall asleep on the couch by 8:00 p.m. every night. But Andy would argue that is nothing new with me. What can I say, I'm a morning person. (Don't quote me on that after the baby is here!).
