Today I am 22 weeks, 2 days and counting...Lil P is measuring the size of a spaghetti squash. Well actually since she is measuring a week ahead, picture a really big squash!
I've been experiencing some pains while exercising this week (okay I call it exercising but it's really a mild 15 minute walk on my breaks at work). I called and talked to the nurse- the walks are on hold until she can talk to the Dr. I'm sure everything is fine and that it's just normal pregnancy aches and pains. Who would have thought that moi would ever be disappointed about not being able to exercise??
I can definitely feel her moving bright and early in the morning and usually late afternoon. She loves when I play music on my belly and I can't wait for Andy to be able to feel her movements too! Here are a couple pics from the u/s last week:
Joys and tribulations, rants and rambles, insights and embarrassing moments...Taking in all of life and what it has to offer!

Fed Ex guys are scared of me...
I may or may have not attacked the Fed Ex guy as he dropped off the baby bedding that came today. Okay- so sue me. I was excited to see it! (Come to think of it, he probably will.)
On a lighter note- I love it! Perfect color, quality and look that I was expecting. Can't wait to get everything in order!

Pleasantly surprised...
So after grilling all my friends, perusing 'Baby Bargains' and still feeling helplessly lost...I headed to Babies R Us today after work, ready to finally test out the car seats and check out the strollers.
I must admit- I did look like a deer in headlights. At first. Then one of the associates came over and squelched all my fears. She went through the various car seats/strollers and even brought them out to my car to see which fit best. She was young and I probably misjudged her (okay I misjudged her based on her age) but she turned out to be such a great help, patiently answered all my annoying questions and assured me I wasn't going to go crazy deciding on the perfect stroller system. I finally settled on a travel system and was lucky enough it even fit in my backseat!
Once I got home, I called the store and raved about the associate to the manager. It's not often you get that kind of service. And she assured me, she would be recognized for it. Score one for Babies R Us!

Whiplash...
From whipping out my debit card and ordering some nursery decor tonight!
Thanks to Adrian for finding the wall decals on Ebay (for cheap!) and I got the bedding set on sale with free shipping. Can't beat that! This is just the beginning... :)
The theme is ABC Mod- am hoping it'll transition into the toddler, preteen years too!
21 Weeks, 2 Days and counting...
It's time for me to cut up the credit cards, hide the savings account, ban myself from shopping malls...
We got a cd of pictures so I'll try to upload and post some later this week... in the meantime, I'm off to shop for all things pink on Ebay!
*Drumroll*
After our ultrasound this morning, it's official. We're TEAM PINK!
Baby (I have to get used to saying 'she!') was very cooperative and we got the money shot we needed! We're so happy to be blessed with a healthy baby girl! She kept trying to touch her toes and kept holding her hand up to her mouth (practicing talking on her cell phone already- Lord help me!). It was adorable!
Here is my 21 week belly shot- and yes, there is only ONE baby in there!

One person's trash...another person's treasure...
Today was Day One of the big B'Run garage sale- and so far, we're off to a great start!
Thanks to Nettie for my Starbucks fix and being my 'sales girl' partner-in-crime- And thanks to Jen for lunch and helping the time go by!
Most of our big items have sold and we've surpassed the dollar amount that we set as our goal. We had to close down shop at 2:30 due to the storm but hoping tomorrow's weather will help us sell the rest.
Happy selling!

Quote of the day
I read this today and for some reason, it resonated with me. Just wanted to share...
"Only 2 defining forces have ever offered to die for you....Jesus Christ and the American Soldier. One died for your soul, the other for your freedom."

20 Weeks, 2 Days and counting...
Well I can't believe it but it's finally here- the halfway mark! Actually, 2 days past the halfway mark and it feels great!
We're so blessed to have made it this far with Lil P and I'm feeling pretty good. Is it possible to go through a nesting phase already? This week we are getting ready for the big garage sale in our development and it feels so good to purge!
Lil P is measuring the length of a banana and according to our ultrasound last Friday, is 16 ounces! So if that is a sign of things to come, I'm already scared for labor!!
We have a Dr. appt. tomorrow and I will inquire about doing another u/s. In the meantime, my neighbor (who teaches u/s for a living) has graciously invited me to be a study for her students if the need arises so I feel like we have some options. Only time will tell!

Autism Awareness Walk 2009
This year, I was able to participate in the 2009 Autism Awareness Walk with some good friends and their kids. It was such an inspiring event- and a leisurely, summer morning just perfect for walking, (okay, I may have waddled a bit more than walking). I'm so thankful to have been a part of this experience.
It's amazing the dedication and commitment these parents show for their kids and the cause. Every single one of them are heroes.

Patience is a virtue...
Right?! That's what I keep telling myself. Lil P is teaching me all kinds of patience. And today was no exception!
Baby was just too active for the tech to get a definite gender shot. At first, she was leaning towards girl but the more she looked around, she retracted that and said it was just too early to determine. She told us to try again around 24-25 weeks. So I guess that's what we'll do!
In the meantime, we're staying 'Team Green!' Have a great weekend everyone!

Welcome baby Sage!
Sage Victoria was born at 11:20 a.m. today! Right on time...and with only 5 pushes.
Lisa, you're my hero! Sage is the spitting image of Lisa- and I heard she has Justin's eyes but they were closed while we were there. She is just precious! And yes- it kicked my baby fever into high gear!
Mommy and baby: She was so peaceful!
Congrats you guys! xo

19 Weeks, 2 days and counting...
You know how a bag of microwave popcorn looks before you pop it?
Only 3 more days until the BIG ultrasound results...stay tuned!
Then, after 2 minutes in the microwave, and it's popped- how full it looks? Yep, that's how I feel. I feel like a full bag of popped popcorn.
Today I am 19 weeks, 2 days and counting... I was up three times last night and I'm sure that's a sign of more to come. Am finding it harder to get comfortable when I sleep and harder to touch up the nail polish on my toes!
Lil P is measuring the size of a large heirloom tomato-
Only 3 more days until the BIG ultrasound results...stay tuned!

What they don't tell you in pregnancy books...
What they don't tell you in pregnancy books: Vol. 1, Issue 1
How to get your growing gut (a.k.a. baby) up out of the bathtub...
I see a trip to Hammer Medical Supply in my future- ah, shower chairs aren't just for senior living anymore!
Stay tuned for next week's topic: "Is that my behind or did my back give birth to a watermelon?!"

Favorite pastime
For as long as I can remember, I have loved reading. Even when I was younger, I'd live at the library, especially during the summers. Even in high school when it really wasn't considered 'cool' to have your nose in a book, I was still reading!
I've only taken a small break from my trips to the library when I was getting my undergrad degree and then my master's. I mean, who wants to voluntarily read after being forced to read boring text books for hours at a time? (Yes, mom I think I did read one or two text books at college!) :)
But since my school days are long behind me, (or so I hope!) I've taken up my favorite pastime again. The odd thing is, that even though I have loved reading for so many years, I've never gone to hear an author do a reading. It was definitely time I had that experience!
So last Tuesday, Alyce and I headed down to the local library to hear one of my favorite authors, Elizabeth Berg. And I have to say- it was beyond my expectations! Like she mentioned that night, when you're reading, you picture the look and sound of the characters in your own mind. You don't necessarily want someone else to choose that for you. Which is maybe why I never really got into books on tape.
Anyway, I digress. Ms. Berg was charming, funny, laid-back, so friendly and delightful! After reading 4 excerpts from her new book, she did a Q&A session and had us all laughing until the PA announcement that the library was closing. It was definitely a moment worth remembering.
So if you haven't read any of her books and find yourself with some downtime, I guarantee you won't be disappointed. She'll make you feel like you've just returned home.

18 Weeks, 2 Days and counting...
Today, I am 18 weeks, 2 days and counting... Lil P is equal to a can of soup! (and yes, I chose Chunky because I FEEL chunky). So there.
I also received my first unsolicited "Are you pregnant?!" comment from a co-worker today that I hadn't seen in months. And it felt so good to say, "Why, yes I am!"
I'm still feeling pretty good nauseous-wise, just tired and ready to fall asleep on the couch by 8:00 p.m. every night. But Andy would argue that is nothing new with me. What can I say, I'm a morning person. (Don't quote me on that after the baby is here!).
