Easter 2013

It was a beautiful day to celebrate Easter!

The sunshine was radiant, reminding us that warmer weather is on the horizon. Reagan was excited to see that the Easter bunny had made a stop overnight and she exclaimed, "I love everything so much!"  We also read The Easter Story, and talked about the true reason to celebrate on Easter.

We enjoyed hosting Andy's family and Reagan was spoiled with Easter goodies- many thanks to G&G W. for our Easter baskets and Uncle Scotty & Aunt B for Rea's pom poms and water bottle!

I'm thankful for our family and friends and the love that surrounds us this Easter. Easter blessings to all!

Easter Festivities

We did our annual trek to Bass Pro this year for Easter fun and even though the line wrapped through the store, Rea waited like a champ! She was very excited to see the Easter Bunny and even gave him a high-five and a hug!  She got to see the fish, do a craft and get a treat- perfect day in the eyes of a toddler...

Happy Easter 2013!

Passing the time while waiting in line...she did ask, "Mommy, can we get it?"  That child is hilarious.

Craft time:

Having fun with her friends...

Peanut and the Easter Bunny:

She did twist my arm (okay she didn't have to twist too hard) and we stopped at our favorite place, Over the Top, for a sweet treat:

Her "I'm trying to be clever so mom doesn't notice I'm using my finger to eat ice cream instead of my spoon" face....

Sticker book before bed... (thanks G&G K.!)

We are hosting Andy's family tomorrow for Easter and I'm excited for all of us to spend the day together, having fun. Hope everyone has a blessed Easter!

Prepping for Easter

Favorite activity during a snow storm in March? Dying Easter eggs!  Rea's first time and she loved it.

She couldn't resist temptation and when I wasn't looking, dipped her finger in the vinegar/water combo. Her face was priceless.  But then she understood that the pink water didn't actually taste... pink.

She picked out all her colors and couldn't understand why we had to keep the finished product in the fridge. Then promptly asked, 'Mommy, when are they going to hatch? I want a pink chick!'

Happy Easter!

The set up:

Hard at work:

She was insistent that each egg be dropped into her basket.  We may have some cracked eggs come Easter day...

Cheese!

Spring Break 2013

Rea's daycare provider had the week off last week for spring break so we improvised...many thanks to Gramma W., Uncle Scotty and Aunt B, and Gramma K. for pitching in to help us with peanut. It truly does 'take a village.'

We headed north for a few days and it was nice to get out of the city for a bit. Rea had a blast with her cousins and we made it back in time to see the snow storm hit.  Let's hope spring weather is just around the corner!

Before heading out of town, I had to expose my mom to the best kept secret in Des Moines: Flarah's!  It didn't disappoint.

I don't think I've ever taken Rea to an actual McDonald's play land. She loved it and happily explored for over an hour.

Loves doing the dishes at Gramma's...let's hope she still loves doing the dishes when she's 16!

We were so lucky we got to watch my niece, Sarina, perform at her annual spring variety show. She rocked it out and we loved watching her!  She excels in band, orchestra and choir- we couldn't be more proud and I hope some of her love for music rubs off on Rea.  Great job Sarina!

Easter present from her cousins, she loved it! Her first set of Lego's.

Playing video games with Tyler...

Riding in the apple car with Braden...

As always peanut was sad to come home; she loves spending time with her G&G K. and her cousins! And she must have been worn out as she slept over 12 hours straight! Now back to the daily grind...

Special Delivery

Reagan was SO excited to have her new big girl bed delivered on Saturday that she actually ran to the door when the delivery guys came, squealing all the way.  They got a kick out of her excitement.  And let's hope the excitement doesn't wear off any time soon since she slept all night through in it!

They're here!

Comfy!

New bed dance party:

I think she likes it.

GNO~ Wine Flights

A much-needed girls night out was had last Thursday night as Annette, Denise and I attended an event sponsored by the peeps that do Wine Fest. It was called Wine Flights and participants were given a red and white wine to try with each course. What a fun way to learn about new wines!

Dessert was a quick stop at the new Dunkin Donuts and a shop around Kohl's to close out the night. Love my girls!

Pork loin rubbed with coffee AND chocolate. Hello, my 2 favorite food groups.

Group shot: Love meeting new friends!
