Goodbye January...

We are never really sad to see January end.  We've had so many cloudy days without sunshine...we are ready for spring!

Life has been busy...

Making Herstory:

The historic woman's march that I took Rea to.  She probably won't understand so much now, but I hope she looks back on this movement someday and appreciates the significance for what it's worth. I will always teach her to be a strong girl, woman- making sure her voice is heard in whatever she does, wherever she goes.

Girl Scouts!

Gearing up for cookie sales. Rea's troop is supporting the Troops this year and sending donated boxes of cookies to those deployed.  This is a great project for Rea to work on her people skills, learning how to sell, learning to count money, and choosing a reward for the money they earn.

The 100th day of school!

We are in the home stretch now and Rea had fun dressing up as 100 years old. She said, 'Mom I'm definitely going to wear jeans when I'm 100.  Just like Gramma K.!'

Pinterest craft fun!

On a cold cloudy day... we had fun making fish and jellyfish....

Supporting her school!

The PTA hosted a fundraiser at a local pizza place and Rea was a great helper! She loved cleaning tables and having fun with her friends. We are teaching her the importance of giving back with community service.

Lots of chicken doesn't hurt either...

Playdates!

No school on Friday resulted in a play date at Sky Zone!

Another January over and we are looking forward to a fun-filled February!

Rollin' through January...

I can't believe we are already half way through January.  Like usual, time is flying!

My dear friend Niecy always hosts a skate party with her sorority every Jan.

We brought along Rea's friend who we were watching overnight and we had fun getting in a good workout on skates!  The girls only fell once and bounced right back. They struck gold with the candy crane too.

Our plans to visit the Science Center the next day were thwarted as we hunkered down after a crazy ice storm. So we decided to make our own science!  Slime making in the works... Elmer's glue, shaving cream and saline solution.  Add food coloring if you want to live dangerously. haha

The girls spent hours playing with their slime- success!

8th Annual Martini Night

I can't believe it's been 8 years since we started our annual martini night tradition. With the hustle and bustle of every day life, it's so fun to get together with my forever girls for a night of shenanigans!

The Stuffed Olive didn't disappoint! Lots of yummy martini's to choose from!

Fruit Loop is my fave!

My girl squad!

Until next year!

Daddy's Little Girl

Daddy/Daughter bonding time...

Andy and Rea share a love for Star Wars so when the new movie came out, she was excited to go see it with daddy!  Of course she had to bring her Storm Trooper and Chewie!

Then they headed to Rea's 3rd annual daddy/daughter dance.  She had fun seeing her friends and dancing with daddy!

Hunkered Down

Hard to believe we've only had one small scattering of snow this winter... but we have had an abundance of COLD temps!

We started the new year very chill... lots of board games, family time, movie watching, playing with Christmas toys. Happy 2017!

Candyland is a crowd favorite around here...

Shenanigans with Daddy...

The morning after Christmas break. School! What school?

Happy New Year!

We've definitely scaled back our new year's eve plans since getting older, and having Reagan...we are content to hang out at home and have our own celebration. The great thing about good friends as neighbors, you can have impromptu celebrations together!

Our friends came over and the kiddos played while the adults played games. It was the perfect way to ring in the new year!

We did encounter a couple mishaps, that I'm sure we'll be able to look back on and laugh about. Our satellite decided to stop service, we had a tiny fire in the microwave (due to a fancy-schmancy napkin with foil, who knew?) but despite the kinks, had a fabulous time! Thank goodness for antenna TV so we could watch the ball drop!

I'm praying hard for health and contentment this year... being present in the moment and savoring the good, and keeping the negative at bay.  I want to just roll with the punches, go with the flow... and hope 2017 is peaceful, happy and FUN!

Happy new year!

Wishing you all a happy and healthy 2017!
