26 Weeks and growing...

Today, Reagan is 26 weeks and growing! Can it really be?? My baby is 6 months old! Another milestone met with relief that baby girl is doing everything that she is supposed to be doing.

This week brings... sitting unassisted, holding her own bottle, recovering from a double ear infection and her 6 month photo shoot with Julie from LandryAnna Designs! As soon as Julie posts a 'sneak peak' on her blog, I'll link to it.

Peanut is loving playing outside while at daycare. Her teacher also said she is doing excellent sitting unassisted and loves to play with her friends.

She is still not convinced that baby food is her friend so we don't push it. She is happy with the bottle so we'll stay with that for now. She has her 6 month appt. next week so I'll post stats when I get them. Let's hope this round of shots goes better than her 4 month appt.!

Here are some pics from the week:

Sitting unassisted~

"Uh...this stuff again??"

"I've got my eye on you, sweet potatoes...you're not gettin in my mouth."

Hmmm...almost time for a convertible car seat?

6 months!

Practicing her gymnastics moves~

"Psst, hey piggy- Is that my bottle over there?!"

We call this the 'flying Reagan'~

"Look Ma, both hands!"

"Okay...I see you over there mom."
"Enough with the pictures!"

Until next week! xo

Progress

As I was relaxing in the tub last night, enjoying a rare treat of a hot bath, I looked down at my stomach strewn with stretch marks that would make a road map jealous, and I was willing (no- make that begging and pleading) with my stomach to shrink! Get smaller! And flatter!

I then realized that just a year ago, I was begging and pleading for the opposite! Wanting my belly to grow so that I knew peanut was healthy and getting bigger by the day. Oh the irony...

And it occurred to me that I should cut myself some slack. I am officially down 51.5 lbs since the day I came home from the hospital with baby girl. Two weeks ago I earned my '10% weight loss' key chain from Weight Watchers.

And I am agonizingly 10.5 lbs away from my pre-baby weight. 25 more lbs after that to reach 'Lifetime' status for Weight Watchers. I'm not gonna lie- it's a daily struggle. I only get to the gym if peanut is napping, I still do runs to Vendoland as if eating a Snickers is going to save my life, and I'm still not journaling my daily points.

But I just need to remind myself when I look at Reagan's cute lil toes, baby steps.

25 Weeks and growing...

Yesterday, Reagan was 25 weeks and growing!

This week brings...play dates, a cousin sleepover, and what else, but ANOTHER double ear infection! Last weekend Reagan had a play date with her buddies Sage and Elly and then headed to cousin Jack and Evie's for a sleepover! We started noticing the ear pulling and it only got worse. Today her Dr. appt. confirmed it- so this will be her 3rd ear infection before 6 months of age. I hate to think about it but tubes may be in our future. I guess we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

So after a bad night last night, baby girl is full of antibiotics, Tylenol and formula! Let's hope the med's work this time. Here are some pics from the week:

We said good-bye to the baby bathtub and hello to the kitchen sink! A little squirmy but it works for now:
A 4-level split house does not make for easy transport of exersaucers. And yes I almost broke my neck carrying Reagan's up and down the stairs. Solution? Wait for a great sale at Wal-Mart and buy a new one for the upper levels/outside deck. Hassle free and only paid $1 for shipping!

"I really really really want to crawl!"

Chillin on daddy's arm:

"Okay mom, enough with the camera."

Oops, I forgot the bib. Drool much?! :)

Loves her reflection!

The beginning of the end... right before ear pain strikes! (note the rosy cheeks, a sign I now know to look for!)
Until next week! xo

Running a 5k...

Is a lot like having a baby.

When the race is about to start (IE when you're about to have your baby) you immediately think...'Wait! Wait a minute, hold up- I can't do this. Let's turn back time. Seriously- I can't do this. What was I thinking???'

During the race (IE when you're actually having your baby) you cry, you scream, you think, 'OMG- I'm dying! I have to turn back! I can't do it! I just can't do it!!!'

And finally, when you're approaching the finish line (IE baby is about to make his/her appearance) you are filled with sweet beautiful relief. You've just accomplished what your mind was telling you that you couldn't do. But you did it. And you have your reward. (Andy was waiting for me at the finish line with peanut so it WAS just like having a baby!)

And an hour after the race (IE having a baby) you forget the pain, the struggle and you think, 'Gee, that wasn't so bad.'

(Honestly though, if you have the choice~ choose having a baby. Um yeah, the race was THAT hard.)

Me and Nette before the race:

Andy's friend Jim, me and Nette after the race (I really don't know how I'm standing up at this point):

How else do you celebrate completing your first 5k? Why, with Mimosa's of course! And pumpkin pancakes from the Drake Diner!

Presidential Greetings

A couple months ago I learned about a program that sends 'Welcome to the World' cards to new babies from the White House. So I mailed off a letter and just this week, Reagan received her card!

I thought it had a nice inspirational message and regardless of whether or not I agree/disagree with our President, I think it's pretty cool that Reagan has a greeting from the White House!

And this just might come in handy when she's in her teen years and sassing back to me, I can say, "Now wait just a minute young lady. Our President had big dreams for you!" :)

If I would have told you I'd be signed up and ready to run a 5k by April, you would have laughed in my face. I would have laughed in my OWN face. Sure...I can run a marathon...WHEN. PIGS. FLY.

Well- you may see a pig with wings Saturday morning. That's right. Stop the presses. Moi is signed up to not just people watch but to actually run a 5k. It really is for a great cause- the '5th Judicial 5k for Victim's Rights' donates the registration proceeds to victims of domestic abuse, crime, etc.
So hopefully when I finish the race on Saturday, I'll look like this:
But I am a realist. And I have no doubts that I will probably look like this:

Wish me luck!

24 Weeks and growing...

Today Peanut is 24 weeks and growing!

Thankfully the med's are doing their job and baby girl is on the mend. Her bottom teeth refuse to show yet but I can just see them sitting below the surface. We are slowly getting back to our normal routine and her teachers at daycare report success with the baby cereal/baby food! That's one obstacle accomplished. Now if anyone has any ideas on how to get baby poo out of carpet?

Peanut is pulling a 'Linus' lately and when sucking her thumb, needs a blankie to hold. I'm on the lookout for something small, especially now that it's getting warmer out. I realized the only blankets we have were for the arctic days of winter!

Here are some pics from the week:

Getting ready for a walk outside~
Loves bubble time!

Sportin her spring hat~

"Look Ma, I can tripod!"

"No hands!"

Who's the cutest bumble bee?

Until next week! xo

23 Weeks and growing...

Last Tuesday Peanut was 23 weeks and growing...

Unfortunately growing a double ear infection! When daycare called me last week saying peanut was running a 101 fever, we headed to the Dr.'s office. The remaining week was spent nursing baby girl back to her happy cooing self!

Amidst the Tylenol, antibiotics, spiking fevers, coughing, crying- there wasn't much time for pictures. We did a lot of rocking, soothing and singing to get peanut through the pain. Fortunately she is on the mend! So here's hoping to a better (healthier) week!

Weekend Recap

Friday night started off with a cousin sleepover!

Jack got to spend the night with us Friday night and as usual, we had a blast! We played outside, played games, and watched Astroboy. Reagan loved watching Jack play and loved having a cousin sleepover!

Saturday night we headed over to our good friend's, Jen and Burt's house to watch The Blind Side. It was a fitting story for Easter weekend- helping those in need, not making judgements against someone based on their appearance or background. It was a great movie and I loved the happy ending! Yay for warm fuzzies!

Easter Sunday we headed to church and then to Steve and Alyce's. Reagan loved looking through her Easter basket with her cousins and we enjoyed a nice relaxing day filled with good food and great company!
