Super Saturday

Reagan was so excited when PBS Kids announced that the Wild Kratt's were coming. She marked it on her calendar and counted down the days. Unity point hosted the event, which was free, and they opened with a great saying, 'Laughter is the best medicine.'

We did plenty of laughing with our friends and everyone had a great time!

We then checked out the new Sam's club that opened by us.  Very packed but we still had fun.  Reagan is so close to reading that when she asked for this phonics book, I obliged.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Feels like summer...

Adventureland fun!

Picnics on the deck!

Laying in fresh cut grass... R is for Reagan!

Only 3 more days of school and Rea is officially done with her first year of school.  We welcome summer with open arms...bring on the sunshine!

Lately...

"When I grow up, I want to be a.... cheerleader!"

Dance and Acro pics.... have to admit, was dreading an entire Saturday with lots of Littles...doing hair and make up on my 5 year old that doesn't like buns or the mascara wand.  But she was a champ and pics went pretty smooth. I can't wait to see the final product!

Letting off steam... today was a beautiful day to break out the sprinkler!

Happy weekend!

Happy Mother's Day!

We've been so busy lately that a day with no plans, spent just relaxing, sounded delightful!

I got one funny and one sweet card from Andy and Reagan, a cute plant holder with Rea's picture holding a balloon that she made at school, a sweet thumb print poem that Reagan made at daycare and money towards a new iPhone!

Andy ordered Jethro's for lunch and I even got to enjoy a (rare!) nap! What a wonderful day with our family of three.

Reagan opened up her 'Salon De Rea' just for me so I was able to enjoy a foot/hand massage.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day!

Celebrating!

Andy decided he wanted a low-key friends party at our place this year instead of a big dinner at a noisy restaurant.  It was fun to host and we had a great time catching up with our friends. We're all so busy these days,  it's rare when we can all get together without kids and have some adult time.

We ordered Northern Lights pizza and had HyVee appetizers and cake.  My coworker made cake balls and they were a hit!

It turned out to be the perfect night for a bonfire. We didn't have a fire pit so we made do with some Citronella candles.... I see a fire pit in our future.

Happy birthday to my loving hubby!

Celebrating 8

8 years ago today we said 'I do'....

No big plans to celebrate this year, just a fun lunch during a hectic work day.  After eight years, I love our love.

Happy Anniversary to my soul mate, love you honey!

More than just eating a banana...

So the other morning I happened to look up and see... Reagan eating a banana.

A banana that she reached by herself from the fruit bowl on the counter (which I thought she couldn't reach)... a banana that she peeled herself (which Hello I can barely peel a banana myself)... a banana which she was eating in normal bites (that I usually cut up for her! And add a toothpick to make it fun!).

Where had my baby gone??

I know people say it and until you experience it, you don't really realize how it happens but the time flies and before you know it, you have a very self-sufficient little girl who can reach, peel and eat a whole banana...all by herself.

I'm starting to miss the baby years...

Hello May!

May came in with a boom!  Where did April go?

Happy May day!  We had fun making May Day baskets this year... and Rea loved handing out and receiving!

Sleepover fun!  Reagan had her friend Ava over for a birthday sleepover Friday night... these two could have their own TV show. They were cracking me up all night.

Our Saturday day plans got rained out so no Adventureland for us.  Rea was bummed until I suggested Mommy/daughter pedi's.  The new place I go only charges a fraction of the cost for Littles.  It's a win-win.

Saturday night we grilled out with our friends the Miller's and the girls got to play mermaids.

Sunday: The day I've been waiting for for a long time... The Lion King!  It was definitely worth the wait and Reagan loved it!  The show was packed but we didn't mind as the cast and crew did amazing- standing ovation for everyone!

We finished off Sunday Funday with a play date with the neighbor girls... I love our neighborhood!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!
