First Grade Prep!

With a little less than four weeks to go until Reagan starts first grade, we are slowing trying to get back into the daily math/reading/problem solving groove...

Rea has also been begging for a hair cut just like the one her older cousin got... I love how it turned out but I have to admit, it does make her look older!

We've also been practicing with a morning alarm clock for Rea so during the school year, she can get herself up and going since I'm already working.  New back pack and lunch box have been purchased and I think it's fair to say, she is ready for 1st grade!  Mommy and daddy...maybe not so much.

Annual Cousin Visit 2016

Every year my mom brings my nieces down for a few days of fun. Rea loves it and we look forward to them coming!

This year we had fun swimming, doing a little back-to-school shopping and the girls had fun playing with their American Girl dolls. Sad when they go but looking forward to next time!

No better way to beat the heat than swimming!

Cooling down with Menchies...

Exploring the enabling garden...

A mama duck with her babies...

Music time!

Our favorite! Cheesecake Factory!

Being silly...

Movie time!

We love this annual tradition and can't wait for next year!

Weekend Fun!

Friday!

Reagan completed her last swim lesson.  Such a good investment and I'm thinking we'll probably have her take lessons during the winter too in addition to summer sessions.

Fun times with friends! It was cool enough outside for a fire and the girls had fun putting on a fashion show and don't forget about food challenges...

Saturday!

We met Nette and Kelli for some movie fun!  The Secret Life of Pets- very cute movie!

Rea had a sleepover planned while I had a girls night out-

This is for one night. A suitcase, 2 bags, a pillow pet, 2 blankets and can you believe we forgot to pack her toothbrush...

Celebrating my friend from high school's 40th birthday!  Hard to imagine we are both 40 now but so glad for our friendship!

Sunday Funday!

We (along with 50,000 other people) decided to check out the camel races at the race track. It was crowded and hot but Rea had fun watching the horses and camels race.  I didn't know what to expect since it was our first time but next year we'll be prepared and get a table inside. You know how well I do with heat.

Daddy's shoulders for the win!

Passing the time in between the races...

Hope everyone had a wonderful, relaxing weekend!

Art Camp 2016

Reagan decided at the end of the school year, that she wanted to try out a camp this summer.  I was kind of surprised how pricey most camps were. On top of daycare costs, it just wasn't in our budget. But then we heard about a local elementary art teacher doing an art camp for kids and the price was just right!

Rea had fun with all things gooey and gloppy... using water guns to paint canvas, mod podge and clay, paper making and creating pictures with glue and glitter...just some of her faves. It was a great experience for her and she is excited to do it again next summer!

First day!

A water gun, paint and canvas...

The stained t-shirt says it all...posing with her projects.

Sunday Funday!

Sunday Funday!

We checked out a local family fun fest on a whim and had a great time! A nice breeze kept things cool while Rea had fun on the rides!

Her favorite!

She thought she was 'bored' on this ride until...it started to go backwards!

Carousel's never get old...

'Stuffie Whisperer'
Wouldn't be a carnie without a take home prize...

Hope everyone had a great weekend!
