Up, Up and Away....!

Despite the heat, we packed up the car and headed to the National Balloon Classic last night with Scott, Bridget and the kiddos!  It was a great experience and yes, a cold coke and a corn dog helped divert my attention from the atrocious heat.

Getting ready for lift off~

Forever in our hearts...

Let's all raise our glass and toast a wonderful man we knew as Grampa Wallace!

A man who always had a spring in his step...

a whistle on his lips...

a song to be played on the piano....

a life lesson to be taught....

and so much love to share with his family....

We will miss you Grampa Wallace...until we meet again one day.

Meeting Reagan...

It happens to the best of us.

I seem to have bought a one-way ticket to 'Inafunk' town.

My mojo is off.  I haven't been to the gym. I'm eating like I'm 9 months pregnant (no worries, I'm not). I'm questioning my 'parental abilities' as peanut moves closer to the Terrible Two's.  I'm worrying about family's health, friend's health, and my own health.

I'm thinking I need a good 'ol dose of gratitude.  I need to practice a random act of kindness.  I need to count my daily blessings and trust that this too shall pass...

Oh yeah, and I need some cake.

Playland!

Tentative first steps....

Loved watching the big kids....

Cleaning up after playing...

Her "Okay, seriously mom? This thing doesn't go any faster?" look....

And finally...the picture you don't see is me carrying peanut kicking and screaming through the mall because she didn't want to leave.  :)

Semi Wordless Wednesday!

If you heard the giggles, laughs and squeals this past weekend, chances are they were coming from our house.

We welcomed Reagan's cousins this past weekend for their annual trip to Des Moines!  Reagan LOVES her some cousin time and promptly took in the lovin' from Sarina, Tyler and Kaitlyn.  We had a full agenda with not a minute to spare!

Friday night:

They're here!!

Incredible Pizza!

Merry go round!

The girls making a video that is soon to be a YouTube success!

All tuckered out...

Saturday:

@ the zoo!

Monkey'in around~

Train ride! The only time we felt a breeze....

All tuckered out...

Recent Developments

Evidently, peanut's itty bitty toe toes have been growing... and promptly grew over the top of her sandals I had deemed sandals that would last her all season.  Experienced mother's everywhere are shaking their heads at me, 'Oh silly- don't you know toddler feet grow by the week?'

So I found some cute toddler shoes on a great sale and peanut loved them.  Okay, really she loved the box- but didn't have any complaints about the new shoes either.

"New shoes?!"

"New shoes!"

"Ta da!"

Little peanut= Little mermaid~

On Saturday we celebrated Gramma W.'s birthday!

Don't forget to stop and smell the flowers!

Especially with cousins!

Mama bear and baby bear~

Loves papa!

It was soooo hot out. Seriously hot.  If I could have fit in this fountain, I would have joined peanut.

I hope when peanut is 16 I can take a picture just like this one.  She is going to have her daddy's musical talents for sure.

And finally... from this:

To this:

After fighting the high chair, I just decided someone was ready for her big girl Tinkerbell chair. She loved it!

Vacancy:
Anyone need a high chair?
