Firsts

Reagan had her first 'friend' sleepover last night...

I have to admit, as a mom to an only child, I had a small fear that she would not want to share her toys, wouldn't want to take turns, wouldn't want to share me, but my fears were unfounded.  She and her bestie had a great time!

I love that we have made her bedroom more 'toddler friendly'- they had a blast playing in it and as I eavesdropped, I could hear fun stories of make-believe being played out, with each girl asking, 'Do you want a turn now?'

We baked cookies and filled our tummies, we popped popcorn and watched a movie, we played music and danced to get the sillies out, and both girls were snoring by 10:00 p.m.  I see this as the first of many successful sleepovers in Rea's future.

And the day after? Excuse me while I go nap....

Let's make cookies!

Taking a quick break to catch up on Sofia:

Cawfee Talk

Rea knows her mama loves coffee... and she knows that the nice people at Starbucks like to give toddlers a little sweet treat in a coffee cup. No, not the actual java, but a little whip cream to start your day off right.

"Don't talk to me before I've had my Starbucks."

Let's go exploring...

Rea's daycare provider contracted Influenza B (We're thinking about you, J!) so this translated into a vacation day for me.  BIG thanks to Gramma W. for watching peanut for the first 2 days...

I decided peanut and I needed to go exploring on our day off and it just so happened Groupon had a deal for the Science Center. Love Groupon!!  And what perfect time to visit the Science Center and say hi to Sue!

First things first.  Morning snuggle time! Mommy with her coffee, Little with her juice.  Conversation went like this:

Rea: 'Mommy, are you happy?'

Me: 'Yes honey I'm so happy because I can be home with you today. I love you. Are you happy too?'

Rea: (yells)  'Yes I'm so happy!!! I love you too mommy.'  *cue snuggling*

First glimpse of Sue. A little intimidating so we had to hide behind the dinosaur head for a minute.

She's checking things out:

Reagan, meet Sue.

Sue, meet Reagan.

This is her 'deer in headlights' look-

Bring in the reinforcements- thumb, blankie, bunny

Exploring~

She loved playing in the water:

Had fun with the balls:

Thought this was pretty cool too:

*Too dark for pictures but I could not drag her out of the planetarium.  We watched the reel on atoms, stars and orbits for about 3 rounds...she was intrigued. Maybe she'll go work for NASA when she grows up!

Checking out the badger:

It wouldn't be a mommy/daughter day without a trip to OL!  I even used OL points to get some free Froyo!

What a great day!

And with pj's on, teeth brush, books read, all tucked in tonight, peanut said in her tiny toddler concerned voice, "Mommy I really miss Sue. I hope she's okay that I'm gone and doesn't miss me too much."   Perfect opportunity for a return visit!

Valentine's Day 2013

We enjoyed some bowling, heart-shaped pizza and toasting with pineapple juice. I'm so thankful for my loves! Happy V day all!

Partying Ninja-style

Rea attended the birthday party of her good buddy Jack on Saturday night. The theme was ninja and she had a blast!  She loved the black headband, ninja sword and... the fruit snacks and juice boxes!

Jen outdid herself with the decor, food and treat bags... Happy birthday Jack!

Rea with the birthday boy:

We got those ninja moves...

Cake time!

Our little ninja. Even ninja's use sippy cups, right?

Hope everyone had a great weekend!
