What a great weekend!
Saturday morning I was making a new muffin recipe, mashing bananas, when Reagan comes in the kitchen and says, "Ooh mommy, are you making compost? I wanna help!" I laughed and said, "Compost?" Which she took as me needing education on the importance and process of composting. She was a little disappointed to find out we were only making muffins...
Then, since daddy had a golf tournament that day, we met Nette and Kelli for Rea's first mani/pedi. Honestly she has not been interested in the past but she got excited to see the rest of the girls get their nails done. She did great and the staff was so good with her.
Saturday night was a fun movie night, How to Train Your Dragon 2. Of course she had to wear her Dragon Master cape to the viewing...
Sunday was rain, rain and more rain! We took advantage of the break in storms and headed on a play date with the neighbor boys. Pirate park and Menchie's, the littles were so happy!
And a special delivery! My coworker was getting rid of a playhouse and it was the perfect size for Rea!
Singing because she's happy...
And finally since I don't have a green thumb and all plants hate me... I was so excited that my (not quite sure of their name? Tiger Lilly's?) pretty flowers bloomed this year!
Happy weekend y'all!
Joys and tribulations, rants and rambles, insights and embarrassing moments...Taking in all of life and what it has to offer!

VBS~ Kids helping Kids
This year during Vacation Bible School, we are learning about helping children in India. The money raised goes towards helping an entire school have free water for a year. What a great cause- kids helping kids.
We had a talk with Reagan about what it means for us to have clean water and how it may feel to other kids who don't have clean water. She gathered change from her piggy bank (after her initial hesitation... 'Use my own money, mommy?' Yep!) and we deposited it into the jar at church. The fun part is getting a blue balloon to throw into the 'well.'
We have 2 nights left and are almost to our goal. I'm so proud of these kids!
Great teachable moment!

Bridal Shower Fun
On Saturday, we attended Kelli's bridal shower, hosted by Nette. So much good food, drinks, and laughter! All of Kelli's friends and family gathered to celebrate. In true Nette-fashion, she brought in a massage therapist to give everyone an amazing chair massage! I must remember that the next time I'm planning a party for my girls. So relaxing!
Reagan loved helping host, greeting the party guests and handing out take home gifts. I thanked her on the way home for being so good, using her manners and helping Nette. Her response, "I do what I can mom." Well that's good to know! HA!
Congrats Kelli!

Vegas Baby!
I don't understand how anyone can not like Vegas. And for the record, I never gamble when I'm there. Who wants to throw away money when I can spend it shopping or eating or at a fabulous show?
I love Vegas! The sights, the sounds, the people, the food, the entertainment, the dry heat, the pool. Everyone is happy in Vegas. And no one sleeps. Ever.
We celebrated our dear friend Kelli's last weeks of single hood before she ties the knot. It was the perfect girls trip and I couldn't ask for better company to share it with!
This time around we decided to stay at the quieter end of the strip. Best decision ever. The hotel had a floor of recently upgraded rooms and we weren't always caught in the hustle and bustle of the busier parts of the strip. We also had a car so we enjoyed more freedom- venturing off the strip to investigate amazing little shops like a foot massage spa that gave the most amazing massages for only $22 an hour. Love a bargain!
One of my favorite parts of Vegas is the Ross store. Brand names at discount prices. Can't go to Vegas without going to Ross! Shopping is in my blood.... and I love a good bargain! Wait, am I repeating myself?!
The pictures tell the best story...
We arrived!
Our ride for the week...
First scenery pic... I was a bit anxious!
View from our favorite lounge- The 107 Lounge, on top of the Stratosphere...
Where else but Vegas can you turn an abandoned alley into a gorgeous area of restaurants and shopping?! The new attraction, the High Roller...
Exploring at the Linq...
Embarking on a Vegas Party tour... look at our fun group!
Champagne brunch!
Zarkana- seriously one of the best shows. I sat in amazement with my mouth wide open.... mesmerized for 2 hours.
This pic doesn't do the stage justice but we weren't allowed to take pictures during the show.
Sightseeing! The Chandelier at the Cosmo:
Flowers at the Bellagio!
The fountains at the Bellagio
One last cucumber martini to celebrate the trip!
Okay so I did gamble exactly $1 for all of one minute. What can I say, I'm a risk taker.
The hardest part...saying goodbye.
And one last shot of New York New York as we headed to the airport.
What an amazing trip! I can't wait to go back!

One of the best MJ impersonators around... truly a great show!
Views of the hotel:
Pool time! Another perk of staying at a calmer hotel...the pool was almost empty!
A quick pit stop at the Mirage...
