Baconfest 2016

February is not only my birthday month, but the time to celebrate my favorite food- bacon!

This year did not disappoint- lots of free bacon samples, bacon grilled cheese, bacon wrapped figs with goat cheese, bacon s'more in a cup, bacon filled croissant, bacon wrapped ribs, bacon toffee, bacon caramel chocolate bar and bacon creme de pot with chocolate pudding.

Best day with my girls eating all things bacon!

Firsts

Reagan had her first music concert last night.

We had prepped for weeks- she had a speaking part, and we looked up the songs on YouTube so she could practice.

Her hard work paid off as she had a great time singing and dancing with her friends at school and speaking loudly/clearly when it was her turn. She did such a good job on stage...I think I was more worried than she was!

Many thanks to her cheer squad- G&G W, Gramma K, and Aunt Nette for coming out to support her!

Reagan got her first GoldieBlox kit from Gramma K for Valentine's day. A day of no school was the perfect opportunity to build her very first zip line!  She had lots of questions about what it was, how it worked, if mommy/gma had gone on one before. I didn't want to scare her and say that I would NEVER go on one...ha!

Success!

I love recording some of Rea's firsts.... crazy how quickly we went from first steps and words to first books she can read from beginning to end! In the blink of an eye...

Happy Valentine's Day!

I was so happy to be the homeroom mom for Rea's Valentine party on Friday. We had 3 stations of snack, game, craft and the kids had so much fun. I love seeing Rea in the classroom with her friends. She is in a great school with a wonderful teacher- we are so thankful!

Andy treated us to homemade donuts this morning and they were delish!  I'm telling myself donuts that are baked instead of fried are completely healthy!

Reagan finished up her Valentine cards...

We enjoyed a nice family meal dining out...I loved not having to cook!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's day!  xoxo

Milestone

I usually don't get too stressed about big birthdays...but I also hadn't had the opportunity to turn 40 yet. As I looked back over the years while my 40th birthday was fast approaching, it warmed my heart to think of all the supportive family and wonderful friendships that have formed over my lifetime.

I definitely couldn't do the day to day grind without every single person who is in my life today. From the girl time, to the family time, to the mommy time to getting to spend every day with my best friend time, I'm one lucky girl. And I never want to take that for granted.

I was definitely spoiled this year- my parents drove down a couple weeks ago to help start off the festivities while the weather was still nice.  We hosted my family birthday party for Andy's side on Friday night and Andy hosted my friend party last night!  In between, Rea and I were pampered with mani's and pedi's from Daddy and then my dear besties threw a soiree with a makeup artist so I could pretend I didn't look 40 for a night!  Lots of laughs, memories made and the best thing of all- a warmed heart full of love and joy.

I'm thinking it's a great time to be 40 and so thankful to have God's love through it all.

A little slice of Heaven.... thanks Mama!

I love these kiddos...

Mommy/daughter time...

A fun night out celebrating!

Here's to many more birthdays surrounded by family and friends.
