2016 Spring Break- Part 1

In the thick of winter, when the snow was on the ground and the temps were freezing, we had a great idea to plan a little getaway to Florida over spring break.  We wanted affordable, family-friendly, and ocean- lots of sand and sun!

We booked a package with Tradewinds Resort and last week, packed up and headed south.  Oh what a glorious feeling to be headed to the beach!

The trip did not disappoint.  The resort was wonderful- the staff were very friendly and accommodating, and extremely kid friendly.  The weather was sunny and mid 80's and the ocean was just inspiring.  The waves, the smooth sand... the baby dolphin that swam by us- surreal!

I made a vow to only eat seafood for our main meals and it was so tasty!  Crab cakes, fresh shrimp, fish tacos... and of course, lots of fun fruity drinks to go with.  The best part was being together as a family and making those special memories.

Rea actually squealed when she saw the ocean- and she loved it!  She loved flying too...which, we may have started a bad habit there.  She has already asked when she can go on a plane again. I love that we were able to go on this trip and have the time of our lives.

We are off!

Beach I spy game- Pinterest for the win!

Here we go!

First set of wings!

First palm tree!

She loved her bed!

First time seeing the ocean!

View from our room-

Pool fun!

Beach fun!

She came. She saw. She conquered!

View from the cabana-

Exploring the grounds...

Nightfall on the beach...

Campfires and smores for the littles...

Family pic by the campfire...

Slushies for lunch because... why not?!

Entrance to the resort-

We took a cab and explored a quaint little area called John's Pass... lots of good eats!

And this is how we all felt on our last day... so hard to get up and say goodbye to the ocean! Until next time!
