Today Reagan is 39 weeks and growing!
This week brings... 9 months! Baby girl has had a busy week this week- she started a brand new daycare, which we are so excited about! Our good friend Jen informed us of an opening at her in-home daycare provider's house so we jumped at the chance to switch Reagan to a more intimate setting, not to mention the cost savings. We couldn't be happier with her new daycare and Reagan fits right in with the other kids!
We also worked on meats this week, which peanut chowed down on. I don't think she's going to meet a meat she didn't like! :) We've also started giving her foods that Andy and I eat- so far she has loved it all!
She is working really hard at pulling herself up, using her toys as leverage and is still doing her own style of 'crawling.'
She had so much fun at a sleep over with G&G Wallace on Friday night and also got a little snuggle time in with Gramma K too on Saturday! Her bottom teeth are so ready to pop and we'll be so happy when they make an appearance!
Here are some pics from the week:

Operation: "skinny jeans"
*sigh*
9 months of putting on baby weight... 9 months of trying to take it off. My last 3 lbs of baby weight are. not. budging. So folks, it's time to bring out the big guns~ aka the skinny jeans.
As I was perusing the aisles of Wal-Mart, I found a cheap pair of skinny jeans. And I got mad. I knew they wouldn't fit and wondered why only skinny people got the good deals?! Why do I have to pay $75 for a pair of jeans at *big girl stores that shall remain nameless* when others only have to pay $10?
So I devised my plan. I buy the jeans, hang them on my closet door, try them on once a week until they fit and then do the happy dance. SO easy, right? :)
Not quite. Although I must say they have motivated me enough to exercise every day this week. But did I mention I'm only on week 1? And I'm pretty sure I have to go to week... um, 50 until the jeans fit?
Stay tuned for status updates. I'll either end up using the jeans to make potholders for all my Pillsbury baking or I'll be doing the happy dance. Either way~ it's a win win, right?!

38 Weeks and growing...
Today, peanut is 38 weeks and growing!
This week brings... a frantic call from daycare on Monday morning. They couldn't calm her down, which is very unlike her. So we rushed to the Dr. only to discover ANOTHER ear infection. This time meant antibiotic shots and an ENT referral. She'll see the specialist in August and we are planning on tubes!
In developmental milestones, we realized that baby girl is learning how to reach out and pull- not good in the crib! While trying to put her down for a nap, we caught her red-handed trying to pull herself up on the crib bars. Time to lower the mattress!
She has also progressed to 'Stage 3' foods and gets to try meat this week! Well I guess if you can call Gerber pureed beef and turkey meat, then meat it is! :) We'll also try working with her sippy cup more and slowly working on taking away the bottle. That should be interesting!
We are on day 2 of the antibiotic shots. So far they just make her really tired but they do seem to be working- no more tears or pulling at her ears.
Here are some pics from the week:
"Who me crawl? Never!"
Movin on up! To the big girl bath tub- no more kitchen sink!

Weekend Recap
Friday night= Mission Impossible, Nettie-Style!
Reagan had a planned sleepover with her cousins on Friday night so Nette, being the creative girl that she is, planned a special 'Mission Impossible' trip for the guys (and us!) including: fun clues, various stops in Central Iowa and adding in a 'precursor' to our Vegas trip in September, all for good measure!
So the 4 of us loaded up the Rover and headed out for a road trip across Central Iowa. We had a blast and soon discovered you don't have to leave the state to have an amazing night out with friends!
Getting ready to head out:
Our first stop: The Wooden Nickel in Bondurant
Here we met up with Annette's Aunt and her best friend for a couple pre-dinner drinks and good old fashioned bar popcorn. We put a few quarters in the Juke box and the fun began!
Beautiful scenery on the way to Marshalltown:

Here we discovered little Mexico and the best part of the night; Carnitas! For anyone as clueless as I was, it's the best pork money can buy. Let's just say it is humanly possible to eat your weight in pork. I tried and I succeeded. The margarita's were cheap and tasty as were the beef tacos! A must-try if you're in the area!
We knew they were open late on a Friday night due to a class reunion. We naturally assumed we'd be crashing a reunion where we were the youngest folks in attendance, however, it turned out to be the Class of 2005! Ah, to be 23 again. :)
Obviously I didn't win big otherwise you would have all received a frantic phone call by now with me screaming into the phone at decibels only dogs could hear. We had fun dancing to Final Mix, not so much fun losing a little moola and then decided it was time to head back to Des Moines!
Reagan and I enjoyed some girl time shopping with Adrian and Jules. Since the temp's were reaching 100 degrees outside, what better way to pass the time than at the mall!
Happy birthday Alyce!
We all met at Chuck's Restaurant to celebrate Alyce's birthday with pizza and lasagna. And salad, and bread with butter, and onion rings, and later on that night...cake, ice cream... and oh wait, I really need to call my Weight Watcher leader and confess my sins.
But we had a great time hanging out with the family and got home before the crazy storm hit!
Sunday: We realized some siding had blown off our house during the storm. As I type, I can hear Andy on the roof with our neighbor trying to repair the damage. Peanut slept right through the storms amazingly enough and we can report with a sigh of relief, no other major damage occurred.
What a great weekend we had with family and friends! Hope everyone had a good weekend!

37 Weeks and growing...
Today lil peanut is 37 weeks and growing...
This week brings... more of the same, nothing really new, and most importantly; no sickness! Reagan is on the mend from strep throat and doing really well.
We continue to work on crawling and she loves standing up, just can't pull herself up yet. She loves watching 'Wheel of Fortune' and we hope it's a precursor to one day being on the show! :)
She is still taking 2-3 meals of baby food and cereal a day along with formula. We are going to start trying out regular food as soon as she gets in a couple more teeth. We have recently realized (especially on the weekends) that she loves staying up late and sleeping in late! Taking after her daddy on this one!
Here are some pics from the week:
Chillin with her Auntie Nette~
Of course, Andy and I can't get her to nap but 5 minutes on Grampa Wallace's lap will always do the trick!

36 Weeks and growing...
Today Reagan is 36 weeks and growing!
This week brings....STREP! You know that horrible sore throat infection that almost never occurs in babies? Um yes- peanut tested positive for it yesterday! We were having a great week up until Sunday night, when the high fever hit.
She got to hang out with her buddies Luke and Ellie Friday night, Saturday she got to go swimming with her buddy Sage in Sage's Gramma's pool and Sunday she got to play with her buddy Jackson! Sunday night and Monday were spent in tears and let's hope today she's on the mend. We finally got her to take her med's and bottle this afternoon.
Here's to a healthier week!
