For some odd reason, elevating my feet is not helping my cankle situation. I think now is the time to invest in that Rascal I've been eyeing....

Little bookworm

Reagan's Uncle and Aunt, Scotty and B, and cousins, Jack and Evie, gave us a beautiful Dollhouse bookcase for Reagan!

It is my hope that Reagan will share the same love for reading that I have and I hope to overflow her bookcase with so many fun and interesting books! Here is just a start!

Reagan is feeling the LOVE!

On Sunday, Reagan and I were treated to a beautiful shower hosted by Andy's mom's BFF's~ the Yahtzee girls!

What a perfect day for a shower! The weather cooperated and we were served a delicious lunch poolside. Then the gift opening began and let's just say, Reagan was very spoiled! My mom even joked- instead of a feeding schedule, Reagan will be on a wardrobe schedule!

We are so amazingly blessed to have so many gracious friends and family to help us welcome Lil P! We couldn't have asked for anything more!

The scrumptious food spread: Andy's mom, gramma, Aunt, SIL, niece~

Exhausted but happy!

34 Weeks, 2 days and counting...

Today Lil P is measuring 34 weeks, 2 days and counting... our deadline is getting closer!

I had a foll0w-up Dr. appt. yesterday and all looks healthy! My blood pressure is good, weight is okay, baby looks healthy and had a great heart rate. I am going for a follow-up ultrasound the week after next so that my Dr. can compare from my previous one.

If Lil P is measuring big, I'm sure they'll just monitor me and baby every week in October- my Dr. said possible c-section for the end of October? At this point, I'm putting faith in my Dr. to make the right medical decisions for us and praying every day that we are on the right path and doing exactly what we should be.

My Dr. was also happy to hear that I was headed on vacation next week- splendid! So here's to relaxing by the lake with a good book and a virgin pina colada!

See you in a couple weeks! xo

The end of an era...

How many of us wished we could be 'baby' so many years ago?
R.I.P. Patrick...

33 Weeks, 2 days and counting...

Today, Lil P is measuring 33 weeks, 2 days and counting... hard to imagine I only have a few weeks left to title my posts this way!

Last night I must have had a nesting instinct kick in- I took off all the tags on the 0-3 months clothes, blankets, burp rags and bibs and did 3 loads of baby laundry. It was surreal to see tiny baby socks in the washer! But felt good to get her clothes washed and put away.

Andy and I have our 2nd baby class tonight. I have to admit, I didn't really learn all that much in the first class so hoping this one is more informative. I basically just need to know 2 things: when do the drugs come and when do the drugs come?! Just kidding... I also need to know if I get a steak dinner after I deliver. Ha! Seriously though, I'm a little scared for the videos- but I also know that knowledge is power. And I'm ready for the power to get through labor and delivery!

Here is my 33 week belly shot, definitely growing~

Until next week! xo

September 11th~ May We Never Forget

God bless America, land that I love...
God bless those who fight for our lives and our freedoms, every single day without asking for our thanks. Remember when almost every household displayed the flag after 9/11? I would love to see that again. May we never forget...

32 Weeks, 2 days and counting...?

Today I am 32 weeks, 2 days and counting...technically, well- sorta...I think so... maybe?!

Since the growth ultrasound on Friday, we're just going to say... healthy growing baby girl! I did hear from the nurse today and she said the Dr. had some concerns that the u/s was done correctly. See- even the Dr. thinks 36 weeks is a stretch! She is going to chat with the u/s technician and we'll go from there. Probably will have a repeat u/s in the next week or so to compare results but in the meantime, she said not to worry. We are going to stay on track with my original due date, November 1st, and just see how things progress.

On a side note, I've been up since 3:30 a.m. (wonderful bathroom urge and couldn't go back to sleep!) so please excuse any typo's, ramblings, etc.

On a fun note, we start our child birth classes tonight! I know it's inevitable but I will compare my growing tummy to every other prego mommy in class tonight so I think I'll wear black. When in doubt- bring out the black! :) I'm excited to learn some new things and start to feel somewhat prepared for Lil P's arrival.

Here is my 32 week belly shot~ Hmmm...I think it's time to retire the white t-shirt! Until next week! xo

Nursery progress

I finally finished the last wall in the nursery!
"From small beginnings come great things."

Notice the papasan bouncer? I put it together all by myself- yes, a true testament to my screwdriver abilities!
We are ready for dirty diapers! The Diaper Champ is set up and on-call!

Ladies and gents...start your ovens!

It's that time of year~The time to 'get your fall on' and bake up a batch of pumpkin chocolate chip cookies!

My mom makes these every fall and if you haven't had them before- you're in for a treat!
Recipe:
1 cup sugar
1 cup pumpkin
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 egg
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp milk
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 375. Mix sugar, pumpkin, oil and eggs together. Mix in all other ingredients. Add chocolate chips last. Bake 10-12 minutes on lightly greased cookie sheet. Enjoy!

You know, it is a FULL moon...

Dr. Phil called me:

I know, I know...I'm growing a baby. Not getting fat without an excuse- but this was too priceless not to post! I had to get my 'Friday Funny' on...

In other news, who's in the mood for some Crenshaw melon?

Who knew what a crenshaw melon was before I compared it to my baby girl? Not me- but I do now! I was able to move up my ultrasound appointment to today and guess what? The really super good news is that all is normal, healthy, measurements look great, not too much fluid, and she was still active as ever- oh, and definitely a SHE for all you non-believers out there! :)

But she is officially measuring in at 36 weeks! Okay, you can close your mouths now. Yes, it's true. My baby girl is 6 lbs 6 oz! Of course, the technician couldn't advise on my due date but just assured me that my doctor would call me. I'm assuming I'll just plan for a big (healthy!) baby and we'll go from there... This did prompt a diaper run however, and we decided to cancel our 3D ultrasound and put the money to better use- bottles anyone?!

So thanks for the prayers- we're still blessed to be expecting a healthy baby girl and after the initial shock, realized not much has changed. She'll come when she's good and ready and the only things we really need to have waiting for her are our open arms and all the love we can give.

I'll update after a chat with my doctor- hopefully next week! Have a great holiday weekend and let's hope 'labor' day doesn't technically apply to me this year! xo

I've never had a petite bone in my body...

And apparently, neither will my daughter!

I just got back from my 31 week appointment and my baby girl is measuring...get this: 34 weeks!

Here is some perspective:

How did I go from 4 'cute little oranges' to a honkin cantaloupe in the blink of an eye?! My Dr. does have some concerns so she is ordering an ultrasound for next week. Please keep us in your prayers that I'm just destined to have a big baby and there isn't a health issue/risk involved. My first thought was: we don't even have a car seat yet!

She is already testing my patience and she isn't even here yet, gotta love parenting! :) I will keep you all updated as I know more...thanks for the prayers!

31 Weeks, 2 days and counting...

Today I am 31 weeks, 2 days and counting... Lil P is measuring the size of 4 (!) oranges (and they know exactly where to find my bladder!). I don't know why I would ever think I was immune, but for some reason, waking up to stretch marks didn't cross my mind. Until...I woke up with stretch marks. And they must love company because since my first ones hit on Sunday, they are growing like weeds!

I did buy an obsessive amount of Vitamin E lotion (so much in fact that the check out girl took one look at my belly and simply said, 'good luck.'). So yeah...I'm on the slippery slope to 'stretch-mark town' and there's no going back!

The nausea has eased up a bit this week and in its place is just extreme exhaustion. Luckily the weather has been perfect for lounging and keeps my sweat to a minimum. I have my next Dr. appt. this week and am anxious to hear Lil P's heartbeat!

I met with my HR rep as well and secured all my paperwork for my leave. Feels good to have that done with so I know exactly where I stand. Am hoping the job holds out til at least late spring- early summer 2010. Hopefully we'll know more by Christmas!

Here is my 31 week belly shot:

Until next week! xo

Showered with Love

I had my first baby shower last Sunday, hosted by Reagan's honorary Aunties, Nette and Adrian! The set up was so adorable, the food was amazing and the company was even better! What more could a girl ask for than to be surrounded by girlfriends and family- celebrating the anticipated arrival of baby Reagan!

I think I even gained a couple of inches that day by eating my weight in chocolate covered strawberries. Ha! But it was the perfect shower and I appreciate all my girls coming out to help me celebrate!
